So much to do...so little time...
I feel so bad that I have not had a chance to post any pictures! This is due to me getting an actual job! I am now employed my Jackson R2 School District in Jackson, MO. This was such exciting news and everything was happening so fast that it was rough for me to keep up with everything.
For the past week, I have been in meetings beyond meetings about the curriculum, grading system, technology, etc. These meetings have been informational as well as sobering. I am now realizing that on Monday, 26 4th graders will be coming through the door of my classroom and will be expecting me to teach them. Wow. What a big job.
This past Thursday night was West Lane's Open House for parents and students to come and meet their teacher and/or check out their classroom. Out of 26 students in my class, 25 parents and students showed. This is great! This information has shown me that I will have great support as well as students in my class. They all seemed like great kids and I look forward to getting to know them.
As for Alex and I, he took his brother Ben out for his 21st birthday last night. They went to the Cardinal game with two others and then headed home. They seemed to have a great time! Alex was happy to celebrate with his brother (who attends college in NE).
Mom came to help in the classroom yesterday before I had to leave. She helped out a lot by putting labels on all of the hanging file folders for me. You would not believe how much this has already helped me out. I'm planning on heading to school this morning to work on some more. This job, I've realized is never ending.
I will also be taking pictures of my classroom to post. I wish I would have taken before pics to show the progress. This classroom was completely empty. There was nothing in it other than desks, tables, etc. The only decoration was a poster. Needless to say, I've made it my own. I've even bought a plant (which the students will name). Alex is going to bring me a Ceramo pot and the plant is officially my only life line in the room. This is due to being on an inside pod classroom where there are no windows with natural light. I take pics...you'll see what I mean.
Again....my title of this post tells all.

Coming soon!!!
Tonight, Alex and I are staying in. Since we've arrived back from Mulberry Hollow in Perryville, we've been wanting to do nothing but relax. Especially with this heat in the armpit of America. We've also been in a movie kick! Last night we watched The Lightening Thief. It was great!!! I have the book and I'm definitly wanting to read it now. This is the book which Susan had signed by Rick Riordan.
This evening, we rented Shutter Island with Leonardo DeCaprio. :) Always a good choice. We are currently still shopping around for a TV which our friend Ashley is consistently telling Al that she specifically gave us money as our wedding gift to go towards a TV. Haha.
Coming soon!!!!! Mulberry photos as well as WEDDING PICS!
Tyson (photographer) should be getting that CD to us this week. We are having to jump into our Thank You's quick! I feel like we are so behind!
Also, today I was taking a look at my camera thinking....it would be nice to have a new one of these. This is the camera which I bought my senior year of high school!!!!! It does well for being 5 almost 6 years old!
