Okay, okay...so I'm not the best at keeping promises with myself. How about this...if I blog everyday for a week, can I get a pedi??? YES! I can!!
I have to laugh right now because I turned on the local news KFVS12 to see a segment on the "Redneck Olympics" in our area. REALLY?! Seriously, are you kidding me? Do I really have to say that I live in this area? I'm just glad I didn't recognize anyone from the video clips.
School starts next Thursday and I've been in my classroom a few times to prepare for the kiddos. Found out today that I have 28 students. Last year I had 26 and I'm not too sure about 28. We will see.
This Friday I'm looking forward to spending my Friday night at Beef o Brady's, a local restaraunt in Cape Girardeau. I'll be selling Skinny Wraps with the ITWorks Company and other teachers and locals selling their products too. There will be Premiere Jewelry, Initials Inc., Scentsy, and Pampered Chef!
We are very excited about it and also looking forward to going "Back to School".

Day 1 of Back to School Challenge: Wedding Daze!!!
Yay! So excited about this first "official" challenge on my blog. Please, don't keep your expectations high...
Sitting on the couch here watching tv as I'm lounging in my pjs after helping with a wrap party in Farmington last night. I got home around 10. Whew! I still cannot believe how this company has changed my life!
Today, Alex and I are attending Carrie Leoni and Travis Sievers wedding! We are so excited for them. Carrie and I have been friends for some time. Last weekend, we enjoyed her bachelorette party going to the wineries and pubs of Perry Cty.
Right now, Alex is getting his hair cut. He has grown it out this summer and it is so beautiful! He doesn't like that it gets shaggy when he sleeps so he is getting it chopped! I told him that he cannot shave it but just have a nice "cut". Pics to come.
In the future: I've booked some fall pictures for us through a girl who my friend Emily Williams used for her family pics. They are amazing. I've booked them for late September, pray that the leaves are colorful. I'm planning on getting these done for us to have some nice pics of us other than our wedding pics.

Back to School Challenge!
Ok! Ok! So I have not been doing my best blogging and trying to make sure that I tell about what's been happening. So, with that being said, I'm making a pledge that I will blog everyday until the first day of school. This will be to get pictures of our summer vacations, adventures, and moments put up on my blog for all to see!
Please, if you are a SEMO Blogger, help support me in this challenge. We all know I could use a little help. Haha. IF I COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE, I WILL REWARD MYSELF WITH A LITTLE SOMTHING SPECIAL. I need some help coming up with a good reward, any ideas? Let me know.
READY, SET, GOOOO!!!!

Wrappin like it's goin out of syle!
I am so excited about this new company which I've decided to sell their products! It's called It Works! They have the ultimate body applicators which are the "Skinny Wraps" everyone has been talking about. To this day, I've lost 11.75 inches! I wrapped some family members last night and they can't believe all of the perks and advantages of using these products. Just yesterday I wrapped 8 people and every person was excited about it!
I'm almost to my goal of Executive Distributor. I just need to find another person to help me sell this amazing product! Hopefully it will happen within then next few weeks. I've already met my goal for the first 30 days and that time period is not even over yet! Hah!
Wish me luck!

Holy Wrap!
Tonight I went to a Skinny Wrap Party for another teacher at West Lane. I went thinking okay...it's just another way to get women to buy into these things. OMG! No way!
They wrapped my abdomen and only 45 minutes later, I had lost 10.25 inches! It seems totally unbelievable, but it's true! I watched her measure me and it's amazing considering that I've been trying to lose weight anyway.
My friend Ashley went with me as well and she lost around 3 inches. It's an all natural detox for your skin. Natural oils and vitamins are in this wrap which basically gives your skin a makeover. At the same time, it minimizes the look of cellulite and scars/veins. This wrap squeezes the fat cells and takes all of the toxins out of them which basically makes them smaller. Just like when you exfoliate, you take dirt out of your pores.
All in all, I'm game to keep wrapping! Alex was impressed as well and has agreed to be wrapped in a few weeks! I'm going to wear it all through the night so we will see what happens! I will definitly keep you updated!
Happy Wrapping!

It's Summertime!
It's officially summer for Mrs. Skelton! Monday I had a work day at school to check out with all of my important info. When I checked out, it was a great, but strange feeling. This is the first time in my life since I was about 15 that I had free time. Amazing!
Yesterday, I ran some errands and worked on laundry. This morning I worked out and decided to work on my blog. I'm thinking about investing in a nice camera so I'm doing some research as well. We are having some very intense weather lately. Last night we had some storms and we are due to have them this afternoon as well.
My dad emailed a couple of intense videos which he decided to take from his front porch in Texas. My friend who lives a few exits up the road called and asked if they were okay. I called and he was standin on the front porch workin on the videos. Hah. Storm chasers.
This weekend, Alex and I are planning on going to Hedman Winery in Illinois to spend our gift card we got from Robyn and Frank (cousins). It expires after one year so we are obviously having to spend it now. It's so crazy that we will be married for a year in just a few short weeks!
Pics soon to come!

T Minus 5 and Counting
I still can't believe there's only 5 days left of the 2010-2011 school year. I have been so blessed with even getting a teaching job right out of college and I cannot thank God more that he gave me a wonderful school to work at. West Lane is my home now and my students are more than just kids who I spend time with everyday from 8-3. They make me laugh, cry, aggrivated, nervous, stressed, etc. At the end of each day, I know that they are going leave my classroom with somthing more than they had before.
At the beginning of the year, I was nervous at the fact that I would have 26 students on my own. My colleagues assured me that everything would work out great. I had my faith and I knew that would also help me through. Winter came and left and without a doubt, I had my tonsils out, which I'm sure glad I had. I have not had any problems since and still have a few sick days left!!!
This spring was interesting with all of the rain. Needless to say, I've invested in a few movies and board games for next year. Haha. We just went on our field trip to the Saxon Memorial Village in Frohna, MO. It was a blast! There are so many people who spend their time out there working hard to make sure that the history continues. We were able to experience what it was like in the 1820s by making pizza in a outdoor brick oven, watching a lady spinning wool, making feed for horses and chickens as well as tring out applebutter! It was a good time.
Next week is the last week of school. I've gotten most of my paperwork done but I do have a few more grades to put in the computer. Yesterday my email was locked up and I have not been able to check it for two days now. I'm practically lost to the world! Tuesday is our Track and Field/Carnival Day. I'm looking forward to it. I've signed up for face painting!
Wednesday is our Big Kahuna at the bowling alley. All of the elementary schools get together to sing songs and compete in bowling. We have an 80s theme and I'm acting like a young student who doesn't listen to the teacher during class. Suprise?
On Friday, we are having our awards assembly and then watching a movie in the afternoon. It will be a good time and the kids will clean out their desks, etc. I will be packing things up and ready to go to my MASSAGE! Yes, I've made an appt. for an hour long massage on the last day of school....yes, genius! I'm looking forward to it.

What a Day..
It's been awhile,...again. I need to make it a point to blog at least every other day. Blah.
This past week, Alex and I went to Branson, Mo. He had to work a bit and I was able to come along and use my two personal days. It was fun. I got the chance to shop around and he was able to work. I attended the Titanic Museum and I loved it! It's definitly a great experience if you haven't gone.
On Friday, we came home to Jackson. The next morning, we woke up bright and early and drove up to St. Louis. On our way up, Alex said that he wanted to see this cabin that some people we know, own. I was all, "I don't care." They (Emily, Derek, and Alex) kept saying that we were going to Bass Pro the minute we get to the city. Of course, I was annoyed. We ALWAYS go to BPS. When am I going to get a break?? We suddenly turned onto a beaten path....CHARLEVILLE WINERY....is what the sign said. I literally yelled, OMG! They were just laughing and asked if I had any idea. NO WAY. Not at all. That's what's crazy, Alex can keep a secret from me any time.
The weather was beautiful, we were the only people there for the first 45 minutes. The view is amazing and if you haven't been, please go! You'll thank yourself for it. What's even better, Emily, who always seems to have a problem finding a wine she likes, found a wine! We were both excited.
As we left, preparing to make our way North for the game; Emily is an avid Geocacher. We found one outside the winery! This is my second find with Emily and I'm starting to like it even more. ;)
The game was fun, but the Blues lost....boo! At least Emily and I each got a 1.5lb of fudge at Union Station before we left.
That was the best weekend I've had in a long time! I have an amazing husband and great friends!

Long Time Gone
It's been too long since I've last posted an update about Alex and I. We are doing well and we've stayed as busy as possible. Between his crazy travel work schedule and my busy school schedule with conferences and events, we have just been enjoying it all and taking it in.
We've been trying to save money for this summer and we've realized that we want to do somthing that we've never done before. We want to travel and have fun! This is such a blessing to have a summer off together.
With only a few months left in the school year, I've been trying to stay away from grading papers on the weekends. It's hard when Alex is out of town to not work from home but he tells me all the time that I need to give myself a break especially when the school gives us this time off. He's so right.
Did you know that I have the best husband ever? On Valentine's Day, Al was out of town. The night before on Sunday, we celebrated by watching a movie and hanging out together. The next day at school, I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers with stargazer lilies, roses, and daisies. It was perfect.
This past weekend, Emily, Derek, Stratton, Alex, and I went bowling in Jackson. First, we arrived all excited. The guy told us that we could not bowl due to NARS renting out the whole thing. At that time, only two lanes were being used. They were not evening arriving until an hour later. This rude dude told a two year old that he could not bowl. How rude....
Anyhoo....we stuck around and played some arcade games and them Emily's friend Ashley showed up (who works at NARS). She said we could bowl for $2! Normally a game costs about $15 a person! What a deal! We didn't leave there until 12:15. We had a blast! Stratton had an amazing time too.
Today, President's Day, I am running errands and putting our wedding picture in the paper. Keep your eye out! I'm also having lunch at China Palace (one of our favorite places to eat). Yummm...

To Do List: In the Works
My To Do List is officially in the works today! I've already ordered the wedding photos, written up the wedding announcement and I'm even going to clean and grade some papers! What's happening? It's called motivation! Whoohoo!
Alex and I joined the gym this week and I am lovin it! Our gym, Anytime Fitness, offers a variety of options. They've got a few trainers who can help you get into better shape, tanning, and even cable! I can actually watch my shows while i work out! What a life!
Yesterday, we had our 2nd official snow day of the school year. Today is the third. I'm able to get a lot done as well as relax at home. Alex is in Springfield and is making his way back today. Pray that he gets home safe.
Tonight and tomorrow, I'm attending a youth leadership conference at church. I do not know what to expect. Expect fun!
My goal is to begin to blog day to day or at least week to week. Wish me luck!

Can it really be January?
Can you believe it is January 2011?! It's insane! I've already taken down the Christmas tree and decorations while also recovering from my tonsillectomy. Alex has begun to travel for his job and is in Springfield for a few days. Next week he will also return to Springfield. He is enjoying it and I'm of course, loving teaching.
Today was the first day back to school and it was rough getting up this morning. It was even harder after school when all the kids were gone. I was ready to get home and have a nap. Of course I had to grade a few papers and get the rest of my grades in for report cards going home Friday. For a Tuesday, things went well. I was impressed especially with the students' behavior with it being the first day back from a two week break.
This week at school we are beginning the Map Warm-Up. This is practicing Map type questions for the students while making it fun and tolerable. Hah. We have a band from the high school coming to perform to kick off the celebration.
I'm home tonight watching movies and grading papers, the story of my life. I've watched "Death at a Funeral" (hilarious); "James and the Giant Peach"; as well as "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs". Haha.. Needless to say, I'm lovin' it.
Will post later on in the week to give updates!
